The Our Fund Foundation Launches The Pillars Fund to Strengthen LGBTQ Organizations in South Florida

WILTON MANORS (May 21, 2025) — As it enters its 15th year, The Our Fund Foundation proudly announces the launch of The Pillars Fund, a bold new initiative created to strengthen and sustain South Florida’s most essential LGBTQ-serving organizations. This innovative fund will provide multi-year operational support, offering reliable and flexible funding to institutions that have consistently demonstrated strong leadership, deep community impact, and enduring alignment with Our Fund’s mission to make South Florida the most livable and thriving place in the country for LGBTQ people.

The Pillars Fund aims to ease the administrative burden of the annual grant process for selected agencies, allowing them to focus more fully on service delivery and advancing their missions—particularly critical during this challenging time for LGBTQ communities.

“The Pillars Fund is more than a grant—it’s a promise to the organizations that have carried our community forward,” said David Jobin, President & CEO of The Our Fund Foundation. “By investing in long-term sustainability, we help ensure a thriving future for LGBTQ South Floridians and recognize the indispensable work of the agencies that serve them every day.”

Importantly, The Pillars Fund will not replace or reduce Our Fund’s longstanding support for the broader network of LGBTQ-serving organizations. Agencies that do not qualify for the Pillars Fund will continue to have access to funding through Our Fund’s open and competitive grantmaking programs.

Through The Pillars Fund, The Our Fund Foundation is reaffirming its commitment to the organizations that serve as the backbone of the LGBTQ landscape in South Florida—while also expanding its capacity to support both grassroots LGBTQ agencies and general-population nonprofits that offer inclusive and affirming services.

LGBTQ-specific agencies will not have to compete for support from The Pillars Fund against general-population nonprofits that include LGBTQ programming. This ensures that the fund remains focused on those agencies whose core mission is serving the LGBTQ community.
